Pieces can be picked up in Limington at the Center or in Portland, ME at the artists home.

Our Mission: Saco River Wildlife Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to provide rehabilitative care to Maine’s ill, injured, or orphaned wildlife and to promote compassion and awareness through educational resources and programs.

Our history: Founded in 2015 by Bethany Brown, Saco River Wildlife Center is a 501(c)(3) organization which provides rehabilitative care to ill, injured, or orphaned Maine wildlife with the ultimate goal of returning them to their natural environment. Though located in Limington, SRWC acts as a vital resource to wildlife and communities all across the state of Maine. In 2020 the center doubled their intake of animals from previous years, bringing them close to 600 patients.

These are limited edition and numbered accordingly. Enjoy your morning coffee, tea, juice, or even use as a small flower vase with the reminder of the meaningful work that happens at the Saco River Wildlife Center and your contribution!

Please note: there will be small variations in the ceramic pieces since they are handmade. Sizes may be slightly different and the colors may be slightly different which makes each one a unique piece of art!

The intended completion date would be the last week of June.

More background: Handmade pottery by ceramicist Shannon Murphy, who is excited to be volunteering at the Center with her husband, Alex. She makes them in her home studio in Portland, ME. Each Mug goes through a multi step process which takes weeks and includes wheel throwing the form, trimming and stamping the bottom, attaching the animal medallions, bisque firing, then glazing and the final firing. Pieces are dishwasher safe and may be put in microwave.
